Professional Development for Therapists & Educators

Welcome to JPA’s catalog of Professional Development Services. In the words of one of JPA’s earliest leaders, Miss Jessie Binford, who guided the agency for 36 years from 1916 to 1952, “We are beginning to see the welfare of our children lies in the adjustment of our own lives as adults and in the life of our community.” More than a century later these words still ring true.

In this spirit, JPA is pleased to present this catalog of professional development and parent workshops that do, indeed, help adults – social workers, educators, community activists, parents, and caregivers – “adjust” our lives and our communities at school and at home. By doing so, we all invest in helping to improve the social and emotional well-being and functioning of vulnerable children. While JPA focuses on individual, small group and classroom therapy and programming for children, we also believe that taking care of the adults who care for children is not only part of our legacy, but perhaps even more important in today’s world.
