Professional Development

Caring for Chicago’s kids includes taking care of the adults who surround them.

JPA provides responsive, customized professional development opportunities for staff in schools, nonprofits, and other workplaces throughout Chicago and beyond.

Our clinicians lead individuals, or groups of coworkers, through sessions on self-care, trauma, and restorative justice. Our approach is reflective and experiential, calling on educators to pull from their lived experiences and collectively identify new ways to connect with the kids in their care.

JPA also provides professional development to clinicians.

Our clinician facilitators have years of experience in school systems. All of them have extensive training and expertise in child development and trauma-informed practices.

We provide training and consultation in an individual and/or group setting with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). During supervision, clinicians will analyze specific cases; practice and apply evidence-based theories and interventions; assess new skills; and hone the ability to build positive relationships with clients.

Supervision time counts towards clinicians’ licensing requirements.
