Francesca Cole-Barnes, MA, LPC
Francesca Cole-Barnes joined JPA in 2015, bringing extensive experience providing counseling services to individuals, couples and families. For the past seven years, Francesca has worked within Chicago Public Schools on the south and west sides of Chicago providing trauma-focused counseling services to elementary, middle and high school-aged students. Additionally, Francesca provides expert consultation services to parents and CPS staff members.
Francesca is trained in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) which allows her to help guide parents and children towards deeper, more connected and emotionally-safe relationships. Francesca believes in the importance of attending early on to the socio-emotional needs of children and educates parents, teachers and school administrations about the importance of early intervention. Francesca’s faith is also a guiding tenent in her clinical practice.
As a JPA therapist, Francesca continues to expand her practice focus by providing individual, group and classroom level interventions, in addition to co-founding JPA’s 9th Gear, a mentorship program designed to help 8th grade students prepare for the transition into high school. In her free time, Francesca enjoys reading, writing, crocheting, and dancing which all play a major part in her self-care and identity as a therapist.
