Jenny Cutilletta, LCSW
Jennifer Cutilletta, LCSW, is a highly skilled clinical social worker with 15 years of experience working with children and families in Chicago including a decade of service at JPA. After earning her MA from the Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago in 2001, Ms. Cutilletta provided quality counseling and group services at Chicago elementary schools in Woodlawn, Kenwood, and Englewood focusing on childhood trauma, family reintegration, and depression. She has been a contributing therapist to JPA’s award winning Building Bridges to North Lawndale (BBNL) program since its establishment in 2005. Among Ms. Cutilletta’s initiatives, she created a large-scale intern training program for JPA and created an annual Staff Wellness Retreat, now in its 8th year. In 2012, she expanded her role to include consulting with direct service staff at a JPA partner agency.
Ms. Cutilletta helps staff members think clinically about their work with some of the most vulnerable, medically-complex children in the city. She has also developed and offered workshops for mothers who are survivors of sexual abuse and for professionals working with traumatized children in schools. She views supervising staff and interns as a powerful tool to connect children to resources at the individual and systems levels. Ms. Cuttilletta’s uses a psychodynamic, relationship-oriented approach to her clinical work. She works with clients in a variety of ways: talk therapy, dynamic play therapy, systemic family treatment and expressive interventions (writing, drawing, visualization/relaxation) reflecting what works for each client and what emerges within the therapeutic space. Jennifer believes strongly in the positive, lasting change which comes from a mutually respectful and collaborative relationship.
